My Education
Finally, I am about to graduate from the Information and Learning Technologies (k-12) program at the University of Colorado Denver. Thanks to the rapid developments in distance education, I was able to conveniently take my entire program online while I worked abroad. Each task fulfilled a whole learning experience that contributes to who I am as a teacher and student. The following projects are a compilation of my work in the program.
This instructional piece outlines a variety of advantages we have when we leverage technology as opposed to the limited uses of textbooks. The video presents information in an engaging way with the use of creative design and GoAnimate software. Please read the full design plan here.
This website is the result of a collaboration among four students in the University of Colorado Denver’s Master’s in Information & Learning Technologies program. It contains a variety of perspectives—from corporate training, international education, and higher education—on building and designing effective assessment for learning. This site offers a collection of resources and information about creating authentic, rigorous assessment for virtual classroom.

In this Pecha Kucha, a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each, parents of early and transitional readers are offered the enduring beneficial effects of regularly reading with and to their child, even after they have learned to read. This website was completed in collaboration with C.Lock, J. O'Neill, and M. Stanley. It gives an overview of mini-case studies from four different perspectives of blended learning. Each contributor took into account their experiences with blended learning in their respective educational arenas. This includes a remote elementary school in the Philippines, a large, urban school district in Colorado, a private top-tier university in California, and an international software corporation.
A project developed in collaboration with C. Lock, J. O'Neill, and M. Stanley outlining Dale’s “Cone of Experience” as an organizing principle for our demonstration of instructional technology throughout the 20th century. This project was created in Articulate Storyline, allowing an element of choice for users so they could deepen or extend their knowledge based on needs or interests.
Future Trends is my contribution to the Milestones & Methodologies project. I created it using GoAnimate.com. I would recommend using their products as they are easy to learn, simple to design, and very professional-looking animated videos!
It Takes a Village was created as a Networked Learning Space centered on parenting issues. It is the aim is to provide a digital community for parents to participate and share tools, articles, advice, etc. Below are links to each element of process for building this online community:
This website is considered my base camp. It is a place to house and showcase my experiences as a teacher, student, and mother. It is a continual work-in-progress as I am regularly updating while I progress through my career and life.
This project stemmed from a creative attempt at digital storytelling, and it was a really fun walk down memory lane. I wished I had not used Filmora for obvious reasons.
This passion project, so to speak, that developed over time. Student Blogging is a powerful tool and an innovative way to incorporate digital citizenship. Click to read the full Internship Report.
This is a fun challenge to do when introducing your class to maker spaces or a beginning-of-year activity.

If a Student...Then: A Reading Intervention Infographic Design Plan
A great resource for early learning teachers who teach literacy.
This Canvas course was developed as instruction designed around therory and best practices, and I was able to put it all to the test with my team at Brent International School as a guide to student blogging implementation.
After attending a Learning 2.0 conference in Manila, I created this "echo presentation" to share with my fellow teachers the impact that the technology workshops had on my teaching practice.
