About Me

Hi there! I was born and raised in Oklahoma. After graduating from college with a degree in Elementary Education, I moved to Denver, Colorado. There, I met my husband, and after several years of teaching around the Denver Metro area, we chose to pack our bags and move to Vietnam to teach at an international school in Ho Chi Mihn City. Before we even had a chance to get settled, we found out we were having a baby! Not long after our first daughter was born, we decided to make it a family of four.

As a mother of two, I have found my most challenging and most rewarding role yet. Somehow, I can get a class of nearly 30 students to diligently work on several various tasks, but I get blood-curdling screams when I ask my daughters to brush their teeth. Ahh, the joys of parenthood. We are blessed beyond measure and revel in the light that these two bring to our lives every day, screams and all.

After spending three adventurous years in Vietnam, we decided it was time for a change. So, we packed up yet again and headed to the Philippines where we stayed for four years. It was December, and we got a call that it was time for us to come home and be with family. We packed our bags yet again and headed to Colorado.  I was hired to join the teaching staff at a small private school in Denver, and Tim taught 4th and 5th grade at Englewood Public Schools. Yet, we are always looking out for our next adventure! After two years back at home in the States, we are off again to Bogota, Colombia to work at an elite international school. Tim will teach 5th grade again, and I will teach 3rd-5th technology. This is where I will, for the first time, take the reigns as a technology teacher, coordinating my own programs, and helping grow the technology department. After nearly 15 years as a homeroom teacher, I look forward to this new challenge.

This summer, I will complete my master's degree in Information and Learning Technologies with a K-12 emphasis. When I am not preparing for class, either as a student or a teacher, you can find me giggling with my girls, wandering the world with my husband and our daughters, or curling up with my Kindle and a cappuccino. No matter where I am, I truly love working with my students every day and watching them flourish into such amazing young people with so much to offer our world.
